  • 2 tablespoons milk (any kind)
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
  • 1¼ cups heat-treated all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon vegetable or coconut oil (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt and/or chocolate sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in milk and vanilla extract until combined.
  3. Gradually mix in heat-treated flour and salt, then fold in mini chocolate chips.
  4. Roll the dough into 1-tablespoon balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet; chill for at least 1 hour.
  5. Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl; dip each chilled dough ball into the melted chocolate using a fork.
  6. Place back on parchment paper and sprinkle with sea salt or sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  7. Refrigerate until firm.
