  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (for optional icing)
  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract (for optional icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, sea salt, and sugar.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until it resembles small peas.
  4. Add molasses and milk; stir gently until just combined.
  5. Shape the dough into a circle on a baking sheet and brush the top with milk, then sprinkle sugar.
  6. Cut into wedges and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
