Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz white chocolate, finely chopped
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • Red food coloring (a few drops)
  • ½ cup light corn syrup (for sugar blood)
  • 1 cup fine granulated sugar (for sugar blood)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tbsp fine granulated sugar (like Dixie Crystals Extra Fine)
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the whipped cream by mixing heavy cream, vanilla extract, and sugar in a bowl. Whip until stiff peaks form; set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine whole milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, chopped white chocolate, and mini chocolate chips. Heat over medium-low while stirring until melted and warm but not boiling. Add red food coloring for the spooky effect.
  3. For the sugar blood, combine light corn syrup and water in a small saucepan. Heat without stirring until it reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer. Stir in red gel food coloring and dip glass rims into the mixture for a bloody appearance.
  4. Serve the Vampire Hot Chocolate in decorated mugs topped with whipped cream.
